G-F

I'm trying something new. It's a little crazy, but so far, I feel really good. I have cut gluten (it's the protein in wheat) and dairy from my life. This is on top of meat, which I already don't eat on account of being vegetarian. Oh. And I stopped eating sugar.

This has been a gradual decline, sort of.

Day 1 I subbed rice noodles for spaghetti and ate all the other things.
Day 2 I ate half a cupcake and M&Ms
Day 3 I ate a cookie.
Day 4 totally free!
Day 5 totally free! but now I am having cravings. I can do it. I went grocery shopping and got some snacks that were G/D/S free. I am not bloated and I feel great. I actually feel hungry instead of just sort of uncomfortable. I can recognize it. Here we go...!!

  1. Go you! I am so excited for you and how much better you will feel. The bloated thing seems minor but isn't at all once you get used to NOT having it.

    I feel for you cutting gluten and sugar at the same time. Sugar is the only thing that kept me going when I had my gluten cravings. You might get really grouchy but there are enough delicious carbs/ natural sugars out there that are G/D/S free you'll be fine. I distinctly remember how Starbursts saved my life the second day I was GF. But, I was very uneducated then and didn't know about honey, agave nectar, fruit bars, etc . . .

  2. Thanks April! I do feel better. This week, I've been eating some sugar but in pretty small amounts... I'm trying to listen to what my body has to say for the most part!
